undocumented illegal aliens flood USALord, we come before You needing wisdom. It seems borders no longer matter. We have a legal process that is to be observed, yet it is being bypassed.

On the one side, we acknowledge that You are a God of compassion and mercy, and want us to have those qualities. We are a land struggling in economy. We admit this is largely because we are not following You in acknowledgement and obedience. Yet we are so blessed with resources and provision. Help us balance what we are to do to help those in need.

You are also a God of righteousness and justice. We lift up the wrongs being done by the illegals coming in: many are using the unguarded borders as a way to bypass the systems of entry we have established which were put in place to help assimilate and acclimate any who do want to come in. We see children being wrenched from their families and sent here. We see sickly, often contagious people coming. We see dangerous lawless people entering our land. Many are coming from cultures and nations vehemently against American values!

We desire to see those come who want American principles of freedom and liberty, not just money. Is the problem an unwillingness to clean up their own nation? Those willing to use the work ethic fit our way, as we all need to use work to provide any opportunity to get “ahead.” What happened to our sense of stewardship to You? Do You mean us to let anyone enter, even if they will not adhere to our laws and our ways?

This is a complicated matter. Grant us wisdom and grace. Help us keep to what will allow both mercy and righteous life. Help us put the care of the needy of America first, before we try to solve all the problems of the world. Give us the wisdom on how to help beyond our borders. We realize we need You to lead us.

Is this a time for tough love? When we say “no” are we not saying: help your own people; bless your own families. That would be a more gracious way–especially for children. If we do not walk in fiscal responsibility here, how can we give beyond our own family needs? Yet is that what You ask? Grant us wisdom. Lord, keep our leadership firmly grounded on good sense.

Thanks for praying. Blessings. Nancy
